MLB’s Anti-Trust Exemption
As I am getting such great feedback from people who enjoyed my article on Internet Gambling Legality, I decided to both add a category called “Legal Articles” which you can search via the drop-down list on the right and I thought I would add another of my papers from law school this year (in a great class on Sports Law taught by Gord I. Kirke, the agent for such NHL players as Eric Lindros, Rick Nash etc…) on Major League Baseball’s Anti-Trust exemption.
While a good deal of legal scholars have written on the subject, I felt that none had fully covered the dissenting views in the cases which came before the United States Supreme Court and that the exemption granted to Major League Baseball was basically a blemish on the Court’s record.
Although this one doesn’t come with a nice table of contents like the Internet Gambling Article, I hope you will find it a good read none the less, and again any comments you have would be greatly appreciated.
