Holcomb To Start For Bills

Believe me, this is a temporary change. Kelly Holcomb, the 32 year old vet, with one good game under his belt is going to take the field for the Bills this weekend. I used to think he was an underrated QB, but at 32 you’ve got to wonder why no one else in the league picked up on that vibe.

I think my opinion of this guy is based completely on that one shootout game with Cincinnati a few years back. Kelly was on the Browns and he was throwing beautiful balls that seemed to just tail into the receivers’ hands.

JP Losman is the QB of the future for the Bills. He’s got quick feet and a strong arm. My guess is Kelly shows he’s a pocket-passer in the Drew Bledsoe mold and JP watches and matures on the sidelines. The sack party is about to start for Bills’ opponents, but there’s also a distinct chance Buffalo scores some points through the air this week. Holcomb is a veteran and he should be able to get the ball to Moulds and Evans.

We’ll see what happens. If you’re a betting man I think this is probably a positive for the Bills. I’d be surprised if they scored less than 21 this Sunday.
