Andre Iguodala Scouting Report
Four personal fouls limited Andre to 23 minutes in last night’s contest vs. the Bobcats. But in limited time he went 7-9 from the field, notching 15 points to go with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.
In 82 games last year AI Pt.II averaged 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals/night. That doesn’t seem like a stat sheet stuffer. And, in hindsight, I bet you thought he was a little better than those mediocre numbers. Well this 6′6″ guard out of Arizona is better. A lot better.
Iguodala was the Sixers 1st round pick (9th overall) in 2004. He’s as athletic as you’re going to get at shooting guard and he’s going to start every night. With Iverson on the court most of Andre’s scoring is going to come via alley-oops and 3s. But when Allen takes a rest (or when he goes down) Andre is going to step it up and start producing 15 points/night. He’s also a tremendous rebounder and defender who is going to be right up there with Josh Howard and Shawn Marion in the steals leaders.
You should be able to pick him up for under market value. He’s the perfect addition to any fantasy roster because he’s going to give you a balanced contribution. You’ll get a block/game, a couple steals/game, and FG %, points, rebounds…He’ll give you everything you need to win. I liken him to a second year Richard Jefferson. And with the Sixers throwing Webber out as their number 2 scoring option you can bet it won’t be long before Andre’s taking 12-15 shots/game. He’s the kind of guy you want because he actually cares about winning. So he doesn’t take nights off.
