Observations:
Tampa Bay is 9-4 and 4.5 point underdogs in New England. The idea is that Tampa can’t play in the cold. They’re playing their 3rd road game in 3 weeks, but with Brady limping this line clearly has nothing to do with talent or matchups. Denver can run at Buffalo all day long and beat them by 20. McGahee isn’t playing, but he’s hardly made a difference in the past month. I wouldn’t ordinarily bet Baltimore as a favourite, but they played a decent game in Denver and Green Bay is awful. I think the Ravens can handle Samkon Gado. The Indianapolis game seems closer than 7.5. The Cardinals’ biggest problem is their offensive line, but Houston doesn’t have a pass rush. Charlie Frye has looked very good, but the only thing the Browns want to do on offense is run the ball. Cleveland’s the better team. Pittsburgh needs to win, and the Vikings can’t keep going with the Johnson/Bennett tandem. Philadelphia has no incentive to show up for a road game against the Rams, but Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t worth 3.5 points. The Jets have nothing on offense, and if they can combine this one with a Houston W they’re one step closer to the Reggie Bush Loserbowl. But I don’t like Miami at 9 coming off their big win in San Diego.
