Baseball’s Most Embarassing Moments

I really liked this article from Yahoo Sports on the most embarassing moments in Major League Baseball history. Though I can’t argue with much of what is on the list, 2 other things would have made my top 10.

First, how can you not be embarrased about having an All-Star game that ended in a tie because both teams ran out of pitchers? Not to mention that the game was in Houston, the back yard of baseball’s most perminant temporary commissioner of all time in Bud Selig.

Second, for a league that continually celebrates its diversity and has recognized Jackie Robinson league-wide for his contributions to the sport and breaking down the social barriers that came with doing away with the colour divide in Major League Baseball, it seems rather embarrassing that Marge Schott ever really owned a team and was able to make the slew of racist and anti-semetic comments that she regularly dished out.

I’d love to hear what others are thinking on this subject.
