MLB.TV - A Consumer Bust
After spending 5 months in Hong Kong where the baseball coverage was pretty much nil to say the least, I was eager to try the MLB.TV package while I was there. Now granted this was a bit before the service had been “perfected” to use an MLB word, but I have to admit I was extremely disappointed when I tried the service. Games which should not have been blacked out for me indeed were, the streaming quality was poor and I therefore I would have to pause games and let them cache for some time before I could realistically watch. So when I came across this article on the Consumerist (which is really worth your 10 minutes), I thought it would be a worthwhile read for those of you who are considering trying this service. Just my two cents, but after reading these headaches, if you can afford it, I would try out Slingbox. I personally do not own it, but know many who do and they absolutely love it.

Thanks for this, I was thinking about getting the service then I started looking at the Slingbox and decided to go with that. Great work keep it up.

Glad it helped Paul. I also found that when I went to cancel the service it was a huge pain in the arse. It of course was a breeze to give them my money but when I wanted to cancel (which was within my rights) they bounced me around on the phone for at least thirty minutes.

I disagree, I actually love the service (when I have a strong connection) but I haven’t actually tried Slingbox. I also sometimes pack my Apple TV when I travel, great for movies and catching up on shows I miss. Good article though.
