Scott Ferrall - One of The Best

I have to say, after listening to Scott Ferrall on Sirius Satellite Radio for the past few months I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed his show (M-F 8PM on 101) until this evening when some hack was filling in for him. Ferrall is opinionated (he loves his Penguins) and can speak off the cuff about pretty much any of the major four sports. On Sirius he is able to make his show unique as he is not inhibited to speak his mind and toss in the odd vulgarity if he needs to. There is a distinct “Ferrall Dictionary” that one should be aware of if you are to become a listener of his show. Fortunately our friends at Wikipedia have provided such for your pleasure:

“Nobu” -Refers to Ferrall’s producer Chris Noboa known for berating callers and his hatred of Boston and Alex Rodriguez. One of the most entertaining parts of the show.
“Lou’s Jukebox” - Refers to Ferrall’s producer Lou Pellegrino, who takes requests regarding the show’s background music.
“Mafia” - Refers to Ferrall’s Italian ex-intern Brian Ciano who still does work for the show.
“Havana” - Refers to Ferrall’s intern Matt Hevia
“Rails” “Bong” “Gypsy Hill Pharmacy” “4-footer” “Horseshoe” - Various drugs.
“40″ “Shorty” “Freshy” - Beer, or sometimes referred to as a “79 ouncer.”
“Scotch Rocks” - Scotch on the rocks.
“Chateau Bow-Wow” - When you are in the “Doghouse” and “your lady won’t give you any” sex.
“That Call Sucked” - Referring to a previous call into the show that sucked.
“Have a Sandwich, Bitch” “Go take a f@$!kin nap”- Telling a caller or someone else to shut up.
“Who Knew?” - Calling and saying “Who Knew that…” (and then referring to a recent sports topic)
“Drive By” - Calling in and talking about something that is off-topic or random.
“Nothing” - Refers to asking for nothing and is followed by a clip of Gene Wilder from Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory saying, “You get nothing!”
“Shot and a beer, Imp and an Iron” - Refers to a shot of Imperial Scotch and an Iron City Beer
“Rick Jeanerette Moment” - Callers can request a random goal call from Rick Jeanerette

So I encourage you to listen to the show, if you are a Sirius subscriber I promise this will make you appreciate your subscription that much more. It is the best sports not on ESPN, perhaps even with ESPN included.
