Toronto Says Goodbye To Swirsky

feature photo

If you have ever watched a Toronto Raptors game on television or heard one on the radio, you have most certainly heard the unmistakable voice of Chuck Swirsky. The “Swirsk” was the voice of the Raptors on and off the court. With a game in the bag he would tell fans it was ok to head to the kitchen and “break out the salami and cheese”. Someone steps back and hits a big three…”Onions baby, Onions” the Swirsk yelled.

Swirsky has opted to move on to do radio for the Chicago Bulls for personal reasons (he certainly is not going to be getting more than his reported $300,000+ in Toronto). The Bulls fans should consider themselves a lucky bunch because Swirsky is a tremendous announcer, character and pillar in the community.

A great post about Swirsky here.
