Ok so here goes, the first trade to be discussed (I will eventually add a daily poll for these trades, but for now please use the comments). This comes directly from my keeper league, not a trade I was involved in, but one worth discussing.

Scott Podsednik and Zack Greinke traded for Derek Lowe and Alex Rios.

A little background, the team trading Podsednik and Greinke is 3rd out of 14 teams with some need for power and the team getting these two guys is right in the middle of the pack 7 of 14 with a need for some serious pitching help but with Podsednik should be able to win the SB category.

I like Greinke a lot and think he has tons of potential. Podsednik has stopped trying to hit home runs and now concentrades on getting on base and stealing which is definately his game. While Alex Rios has tremendous potential, I just haven’t seen the power from him yet (he has yet to put one out this year).

The trade makes sense when you consider that 7th is well out of the money and this is a keeper pool, but giving up both Podsednik and Greinke for Lowe and Rios seems like a bit of a risk to me.
